Vanity N-number availability checker

Check whether an FAA vanity N-number is available. If it is taken, NAirRegistry suggests close alternatives ranked by edit distance, keyboard proximity, phonetic similarity, and digit-letter pattern. No language model — the score is fully deterministic.

FAQ

How does N-number availability work?
The FAA reserves N-numbers on request for $10. The pool is a finite alphanumeric set governed by 14 CFR §47.15. NAirRegistry checks the FAA registry plus our snapshot to estimate availability.
Why are some letters never used?
The letters I and O are excluded across the FAA tail format because they look like the digits 1 and 0. The first character after N also cannot be 0.
How are alternatives ranked?
A deterministic score combines edit distance, QWERTY keyboard proximity, phonetic equivalence, and digit-vs-letter character class. No language model is involved.
Will NAirRegistry reserve the tail for me?
